O2 Resort Valle names Mayra Hernandez Gonzalez as Director of Operations, bringing science-driven leadership to elevate guest experience and growth.
At o2 Resort Valle de Guadalupe, leadership has always been rooted in vision, execution, and the belief that exceptional people build extraordinary hospitality. Today, the resort proudly announces the appointment of Mayra Hernandez Gonzalez as its new Director of Operations, a strategic leader whose rare combination of science, business management, and human-centered leadership marks a new chapter in the resort’s continued growth.
Located in the heart of Valle de Guadalupe Resorts, o2 Resort Valle de Guadalupe has quickly established itself as one of Baja California’s premier luxury boutique destinations, recognized for its architectural integration with nature, wellness philosophy, and elevated guest experience. As the resort continues expanding its vision and operations, Hernandez Gonzalez joins the executive team with a unique background designed to strengthen both guest experience and operational excellence.
Mayra Hernandez Gonzalez describes herself as “a woman who learned to move between different worlds without losing her identity: scientist and businesswoman, leader and observer, strategic yet deeply human.” That philosophy is reflected throughout her professional career, where analytical thinking, adaptability, and execution have consistently defined her path.
Her academic foundation is deeply rooted in environmental sciences and marine research. Hernandez Gonzalez earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Sciences from the Universidad Autónoma de Baja California before completing a Master’s Degree in Coastal Oceanography, focusing her research on ecological systems and marine biodiversity conservation in Baja California. Her scientific background was further strengthened through international collaborations and academic programs connected to the University of California, Santa Cruz, as well as multinational marine conservation projects involving Mexico, Canada, and the United States.

Before joining O2 Resort Valle de Guadalupe, Hernandez Gonzalez developed an extensive operational and managerial career across sports organizations, scientific institutions, private ventures, and businesses related to hospitality and customer experiences.
Most recently, she served as Sports Manager at Club de Pádel, near Valle de Guadalupe Hotels, where she led tournament operations, large-scale events, sponsorship strategies, customer engagement, and community growth initiatives. Her experience included overseeing complex logistics, coordinating dynamic events, strengthening brand positioning, and creating premium experiences for members, users, and sponsors.
At the same time, she also served as Owner and General Manager of Cervecería Escafandra, where she was responsible for financial administration, strategic purchasing, budgeting, payroll, operational logistics, and team leadership. Her ability to balance strategic planning with day-to-day operational execution became one of her defining strengths as a business leader.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Hernandez Gonzalez carries a leadership style deeply influenced by perseverance, resilience, and family values. A mother of five-year-old twins and a self-described “tireless fighter for justice and truth,” she attributes much of her personal strength and work ethic to the example set by her mother.
“My mother was one of the first people who taught me the courage to move forward even when things were not easy,” Hernandez Gonzalez shared. “From her, I learned strength, responsibility, and how to care for others without ever stopping the fight for what you believe in.”
That combination of human empathy and operational discipline is expected to play a key role in her leadership at O2 Resort Valle de Guadalupe.

“Mayra represents exactly the kind of leadership we believe in,” resort leadership shared. “She brings structure, intelligence, operational discipline, and an extraordinary ability to connect with people. Her background is different from what is traditionally seen in hospitality, and that diversity of experience is precisely what makes her such a valuable addition to our team.”
As Director of Operations, Hernandez Gonzalez will oversee the resort’s daily operations, operational systems, guest experience execution, staff coordination, and strategic growth initiatives across the property. Her multidisciplinary background, combining science, administration, logistics, leadership, and customer service, positions her to help establish O2 Resort Valle de Guadalupe as one of the region’s leading luxury hospitality destinations.
This appointment also reflects O2 Resort Valle de Guadalupe’s philosophy of building a leadership team grounded not only in credentials, but also in character, adaptability, and vision.
In an industry where modern luxury hospitality increasingly values authenticity, emotional intelligence, and operational sophistication, Hernandez Gonzalez represents a new generation of leadership, one that merges analytical thinking with deeply human leadership.
For O2 Resort Valle de Guadalupe, her arrival represents far more than a new executive hire. It marks the continued evolution of a hospitality brand focused on intentional growth, conscious hospitality, and creating experiences filled with excellence, purpose, and meaning.
