Viviano’s Fall Collection: A Whimsical Showcase in Tokyo

A Unique Setting

The launch of Viviano’s fall collection was hosted in a distinctive environment at Yebisu Gardens, Tokyo, featuring a vintage-inspired suspended runway decorated with an enormous disco ball. This setting added a nostalgic charm to the collection titled “Corpo di Furmin,” a phrase rooted in Italian that implies ‘love at first sight.’

Collection Highlights

Viviano’s latest offerings showcased a vibrant array of designs that blended playfulness with vintage flair. Notable pieces included:

  • A silver glitter and polka dot blouse paired with a whimsical wire cat bow.
  • A frilled neck top featuring a classic floral print reminiscent of grandma’s wardrobe.
  • A stylish herringbone and leather jacket.
  • Eye-catching bouclé or sequin dresses with intricate designs.
  • A combination of a leather jacket, pencil skirt, and trousers made from fluffy tulle.

While the collection exhibited a delightful mix of fabrics, textures, and silhouettes, the designer admitted that the display aimed for creative spontaneity. “We wanted to get out of the box, follow our instincts and bring things together,” the designer shared enthusiastically backstage.

Overall Impressions and Audience Reception

The collection featured a mixture of successes and misses; for instance, the playful floral prints were well-received, whereas some items, such as the plaid pants, did not resonate as strongly. Nevertheless, the overall theme celebrated the joy of dressing up.

The finale showcased three grand dresses characterized by dramatic panniers, crafted from 50 meters of organza, gracefully gliding down the runway. “It’s a tight dress on the inside and a huge dress on the outside, it’s really light and easy to wear,” the designer explained, highlighting their functionality and elegance.

A Message of Joy

At the heart of Sue’s vision is the desire to spread happiness through fashion. He emphasized that fashion should embody freedom of expression, a sentiment he champions each season. In his view, the intensity of online commentary around fashion can detract from its enjoyment. “I think people should enjoy fashion more,” he remarked. “You don’t have to worry too much about what people are thinking or how people follow your instincts.”

Viviano’s fall collection is a testament to the designer’s commitment to creativity and joy, illustrated magnificently within the enchanting atmosphere of Tokyo’s Yebisu Gardens.
