Her grandmother, a former New York City-based employee for a major hair company and a cosmetology instructor after her graduation, always encouraged her to strive for greatness. Pizarro recalls how her grandmother not only bought her coloring books but also supported her during her audition for a movie, fostering her dreams along the way.
Despite her early exposure to beauty, Pizarro’s path to a career in makeup artistry was not immediate. She explored various career avenues, including culinary school, CNA classes, bartending school, and a course in digital multimedia and web design. However, it was a modeling gig that reignited her passion for makeup. “The moment I started freelancing as a makeup artist, I knew I had found my calling,” said Pizarro. From there, she further developed her skills and eventually enrolled in aesthetician school to refine her craft.
After gaining experience as a professional makeup artist with a large makeup company, Pizarro decided to take a bold step and launch her own business, Mua & Aesthetics.
