Joanna Ariel Jubitana is a multifaceted leader whose work spans the fields of education, holistic wellness, cultural advocacy, and governmental reform. She is the founder of Jubitana’s Apothecary & Holistic Creations, and through her diverse professional roles, she has become a pioneer in integrating creative enterprise with community impact.
Born in Miami Beach, Florida, and raised in Suriname as a young child, Jubitana spent her school years in Miami Gardens, Florida. Her multicultural upbringing profoundly influenced her personal and professional journey. Her family heritage—comprising Indo-Aryan, Indian, West African, and Indigenous American roots—forms the foundation of her commitment to cultural awareness and community empowerment. Until the age of three, Jubitana was raised by her grandmother and brothers. Afterward, she lived with her parents and brothers from the age of five. They moved into a large home in Miami Gardens, in a wealthy community that shaped her mindset, further reinforced her professional background, and developed her affluent lifestyle.
Jubitana’s academic and professional career reflects her deep commitment to both education and community service. She began her educational path in the arts through Miami’s magnet school programs and graduated in the top 10 percent of her class from Dr. Michael Krop Senior High School. Later, she pursued a degree in Elementary Education at St. Petersburg College, earning certifications in reading and ESOL. Jubitana has served in the public school system across Miami-Dade, Broward Counties, Hillsborough County, and Pinellas County, where she focused on literacy development and curriculum coordination, helping to shape the futures of countless students. Her international teaching experience includes work with the Bahan International Science Academy in Myanmar, where she further honed her global perspective on education. She also collaborates with the American Federation of Teachers and the National Education Association, working together with their president, Randi Weingarten, as an advocate and activist for educational reform.
In addition to her work in education, Jubitana is an entrepreneur and creative visionary. As the founder of Jubitana’s Apothecary & Holistic Creations, she has developed a line of wellness products and services rooted in holistic healing practices and spiritual practices. Her work through this initiative seeks to support individuals in their physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being. Through the nonprofit branch of her business, Jubitana’s Apothecary & Holistic Creations Scrapbook & Spiritual Outreach, Inc., she fosters community enrichment through wellness programs, educational outreach, and FBI tips that she has partnered with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) to organize and expand, as well as local law enforcement, including the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office.
In addition to her community outreach, Jubitana has made her mark in the music industry as the director of operations for the sister record label of XO Records, known as XO’s Sweetheart Records. She is also well-known as the creative director and publicist for the iconic global superstar Abel Tesfaye, as well as a talented artist for XO Records. In this role, she has been instrumental in brand development and media strategy, helping to bring new talent, fresh voices, and creative projects to a wider audience while restoring the love of music, art, and culture. Her ability to integrate creativity with entrepreneurship has garnered recognition in business and lifestyle publications, highlighting the synergy between her artistic and professional endeavors. Later, Jubitana studied Criminal Law and earned her Juris Doctorate and Master of Laws (LLM) in Criminal Justice and Law Enforcement Administration through the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).
Jubitana is also a published author. Her book Reading a Natal Chart 101: Jubi Tarot™, available on Amazon Kindle, serves as an introductory guide to astrology and spiritual study. It reflects her passion for metaphysical education and her commitment to providing accessible tools for spiritual growth.
As a government official, Jubitana serves as an intelligence officer with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), contributing to national security efforts. In this role, she is responsible for organizing intelligence that aids in the prevention of terrorism and crime, and for partnering and networking with various agencies to keep the public safe and informed.
As a mother of two boys, the wife of global icon Abel Tesfaye, and an active member of her local school community in Miami, Florida, Jubitana continues to balance her roles in education, enterprise, and family life.
