OdbO: A Comfort Companion For The Feelings We Carry

OdbO is an Australian collectible comfort companion that gives emotional weight a physical form.

Some feelings arrive without words. They are heavy, joyful, tender, overwhelming, or simply too much to keep inside. For most of us, there is no place for those feelings to land before we understand them. Daniel Chee and his co-founder Leslie knew that experience well. Out of their own moments with anxiety and panic attacks came a simple, human question: what if a feeling did not need to be fully explained before it could be acknowledged, held, and moved through with care?

The answer became OdbO, an Australian designed collectible comfort brand created to give emotional weight a physical form.

Where Feelings Find Form

OdbO began in Melbourne with lived experience rather than a marketing brief. OdbO was created from the understanding that sometimes, before a feeling can be explained, it needs somewhere safe and gentle to land, says Chee. That belief shaped every design decision that followed.

At the heart of the brand is OdbO, The Original Emotion Patch Plush. OdbO itself is a soft grey form, representing the emotional weight people carry in their minds. For its First Release, it wears the Bunny Disguise Suit, a gentle outer layer of softness, innocence, and protection. The grey form can be removed and held on its own for tactile grounding, while its soft pink feet become cheeks when it is placed inside the disguise. It is a small detail, yet it captures the entire idea: something heavy from the mind becoming something soft enough to stay with you.

This is not a toy, and it is not a medical device. As Chee puts it, It sits in a softer space between emotional design, tactile grounding, self reflection and collectibility. OdbO is created for adults and young people who connect with meaningful objects, thoughtful design, and quiet moments of pause.

More Than A Plush

What makes OdbO distinctive is that it turns comfort into a connected ritual. The plush, the embroidered Emotion Patches, the removable form, the Hear with Me guided audio, and the REFLECT with OdbO journal all work together as one experience.

The Emotion Patches create a visual language for feelings. They are symbols, not fixed labels. One patch may represent anxiety, grief, courage, celebration, burnout, protection, or hope, depending entirely on the person and the moment. What matters is not the official name, but the instant a patch helps someone recognise what they are carrying.

We did not want to create another plush, Chee explains. We wanted to create a comfort companion that helps people recognise what they are carrying, give it form, hold it differently and reflect when they are ready.

The OdbO Ritual gives this depth a gentle structure. It brings together six connected elements: Emotional Identification, Visual Externalisation, Tactile Separation, Pressure Based Grounding, Guided Reconnection, and Reflective Integration. A person chooses a patch to recognise a feeling, places it on OdbO to give that feeling a visible form, removes and holds the grey form to create separation, uses touch and pressure to return attention to the body, listens to Hear with Me to slow the moment down, and records what helped in the journal.

The OdbO Ritual is built as a structured emotional regulation framework, but the experience itself stays gentle, personal and easy to understand, Chee says. Importantly, OdbO is not only for difficult feelings. It is made for the full weight we carry through life, whether heavy, hopeful, messy, or tender.

A Response To A Global Moment

OdbO arrives at a time when many people are carrying more than ever. Across the world, stress, anxiety, burnout, and financial pressure are shaping how people move through their days. Younger generations in particular are openly seeking tools that feel meaningful and emotionally honest, without turning every feeling into something clinical.

The scale is significant. Deloittes 2025 global Gen Z and Millennial Survey found that 40 percent of Gen Zs and 34 percent of millennials feel stressed or anxious all or most of the time. The World Health Organization has also reported that nearly one in seven people globally were living with a mental disorder in 2021.

OdbO sits gently in that space. It does not diagnose, treat, or replace professional support. Instead, it offers a softer, more personal way to notice and hold what we live with. Early feedback has been especially warm around this purpose, with viewers noting that OdbO may resonate with neurodivergent people, including those with ADHD, autistic people, and those with sensory processing differences, thanks to its tactile grounding, visual patches, and reflective ritual.

The Beginning Of A Collectible World

The Bunny Disguise is only the first form. OdbO is being built as a growing collectible comfort world, with future disguises, new Emotion Patches, guided audio experiences, collaborations, and limited releases planned beyond the First Release.

The Bunny Disguise is only the beginning, Chee says. With the support of our First Founding Humans, OdbO can grow into a collectible comfort world that explores mental wellbeing, the experiences that shape us and the often unspoken parts of moving through life.

Backers can feel confident in what they are joining. The core plush, the Bunny Disguise, and the First Release packaging have already been developed, manufactured, and tested. Kickstarter serves as the official launch platform and the doorway into OdbOs wider world.

Become One Of OdbOs First Founding Humans

OdbOs First Release is launching exclusively through Kickstarter. Early supporters will become OdbOs First Founding Humans, receiving first access, special First Release pricing, selected launch rewards, and the opportunity to be part of the beginning of a growing collectible comfort world.

If you have ever carried a feeling that felt too big to explain, OdbO offers something soft to hold while you find your way through it. As Chee reminds us, OdbO is not here to fix every feeling. It is here to make the heavy ones easier to hold. Visit the Kickstarter page to follow the reveal, secure early access, and discover where feelings find form.
