Deborah DeFrancesco, a Boston-based writer and former wedding planner, has launched the unapologetically honest and entertaining podcast Pour Me a Story, where humor, real talk, and a cocktail come together. With her unique voice, DeFrancesco is taking listeners on an exciting journey filled with candid conversations, laughter, and plenty of inspiration.
DeFrancesco’s journey into podcasting began with the blog Bitchless Bride, which she created to encourage drama-free, sane bridal behavior. Her success with this blog led to her work being featured in prominent outlets like HuffPost, Boston Magazine, and Yahoo! Finance. She even appeared on 20/20with Elizabeth Vargas. While these successes were important, DeFrancesco felt it was time to pursue something that allowed her to express more of her authentic self.
“After pitching a show to a few studios and receiving rejection, I decided not to wait for anyone’s approval,” she says. “Instead, I took the reins and launched The Bitchless Bride Podcast, giving myself the green light to create exactly what I wanted.”
This mindset of creating content independently and unapologetically carried through to her second podcast, I’m Not Sorry, co-hosted with Kerri Tabasky. This podcast tackled womanhood, motherhood, and the challenges of life, offering a raw and humorous perspective on navigating midlife. But after a few years of exploring weddings and womanhood, DeFrancesco wanted to evolve once again.
Pour Me a Storymarks that next step—a platform for storytelling that blends humor, vulnerability, and resilience. The podcast features engaging and inspiring conversations with guests who share their stories of perseverance and growth. Each episode is designed to make listeners feel like they’re joining a conversation at the kitchen table or a casual bar chat.
DeFrancesco says, “The goal of Pour Me a Storyis to inspire listeners by sharing real, authentic stories from people who have shown remarkable determination in pursuing their passions and overcoming challenges. The guests are individuals who bring humor, grit, and heart to their journeys.”
Past guests on the show have included comedian Corey Rodrigues, culinary entrepreneurs Pam and David Griffin of Chocolate Therapy, Chef Chris Coombs, and business leader Greta Bajrami, to name a few. These guests represent the diverse range of experiences that DeFrancesco believes will resonate with her audience.
In addition to being a podcast host, DeFrancesco is a mother who juggles her entrepreneurial endeavors. She openly acknowledges the challenges of balancing her professional and personal lives, including the emotional weight that comes with both roles. “Balance is still a work in progress,” she admits. “But I constantly remind myself that taking care of myself isn’t selfish. Sometimes, I just need a break.”
Despite the hurdles she faces, DeFrancesco continues to lead with authenticity, believing that her realness is what allows her to connect with listeners. The podcast’s unfiltered approach is meant to encourage open and honest conversations about life’s messiest and most beautiful moments.
The Heart of Pour Me a Story
Pour Me a Storyhas carved out a unique niche in the crowded podcasting world. At a time when many shows can feel overly polished or performative, DeFrancesco’s podcast is refreshingly authentic. It mixes humor with empathy and fosters a sense of connection that listeners can relate to.
DeFrancesco’s mission is simple yet powerful: “I want to create something real, honest, humorous, and human… something that lingers long after the episode ends.”
