There is no doubt in the whole world that Zendaya knows how to make an impact. Still, sometimes her softest looks (remember the wet hair and Challengers “I Told Ya” T-shirt?) pack the most punch.
On Monday, Dec. 2, the actor appeared at the Gotham Awards, the independent film and television awards ceremony that kicks off awards season, wearing a simple white halterneck dress custom-made by Louis Vuitton and matching milky manicure. Ta.
A classic, her short nails were filed into a slight almond shape and polished just enough to show off the natural pink hue of the nail bed. There was no drama, no flair, no special effects, just natural beauty and a little polish to pack that aforementioned pretty punch.
To accessorize her mani, Zendaya wore a giant diamond ring on her left middle finger (just like the Bvlgari brand ambassador’s, baby!). The theme transferred to her head with jeweler’s diamond studs on display alongside a bouncy slicked-back ponytail. This is also simple yet very chic.
As for makeup, her big brown eyes sparkled beneath thick lashes and perfectly plucked eyebrows. Soft pink blush applied to the apples of her cheeks and pink lip gloss are the other key elements of this look, mirroring the tone of her nails and letting her classic beauty take the lead once again. I am.
Celebrity manicurist Bettina Goldstein previously told Birdie that a milky nail polish is “a softened version of a pure white nail polish, but with a little more color than a stark nude. It gives your nails a clean, polished look. It will show you something.”
This one is more pink than white, but the feeling is the same. To achieve this look at home, Goldstein makes her own polish by mixing three drops of her favorite top coat and one drop of a creamy white polish (maybe Chanel’s Le Vernis Blanc Ecume?). I suggested making one. Then apply just enough coats to make it look polished rather than stark white, and finish with an additional top coat.
