Debbie Wingham creates a gravity-defying, 12-foot-tall cookie Christmas tree to inspire generosity this holiday season.
A Sweet Holiday Masterpiece: The Tallest Cookie Christmas Tree
World-renowned sugar artist Debbie Wingham, celebrated for her record-breaking Christmas creations, has done it again. In celebration of the launch of her new cookie company, Crumbz Cookies, Wingham has designed and constructed the world’s tallest cookie Christmas tree, a gravity-defying masterpiece.
The Christmas tree itself stood 8 feet tall, but the star crowning it reached a height of 12 feet, elevated by the gifts below the tree, which are to be donated to various children’s hospitals on Christmas Eve. The tree will be used to encourage the local community in Marbella to give back to those less fortunate, including kids with terminal illnesses.
Behind the Magic: Debbie’s Inspiration for the Christmas Tree
An incentive Wingham wanted to bring this Christmas, Wingham, aged 43, mother of 3 and recent grandmother, said she is offering free baking workshops for donations, along with accepting toys and puzzles for children to add underneath this grand confection up until 9 am on Christmas Eve.
Following in the footsteps of her previous world records for the most expensive Christmas tree, advent calendar, and Dolce and Gabbana’s world’s most expensive gingerbread house, this latest installation solidifies Wingham’s title as the “Queen of Christmas.” The monumental tree is located within the prestigious La Fonda Heritage Hotel, in the heart of Marbella Old Town.

Designer Gingerbread Houses & Holiday Delights at the Tree’s Base
It is composed of over 1,000 individually crafted cookies. The tree itself is made from reclaimed wood. The festive structure showcases all the Christmas classics, from gingerbread men to designer Christmas Day jumper cookies, miniature trees, and stars. Other festive classics include the Linzer cookie, a traditional sandwich-style cookie with either jam or chocolate filling. Some of the cookies are more rustic and traditional-looking, while others feature intricate details. Other adornments include cinnamon sticks, candied fruits, giant chocolate coins, and other treats we associate with the season, along with Crumbz Cookies.
The base of the tree is adorned with designer gingerbread houses and pinecone festive scenes.
Beyond its visual grandeur, the tree offers a captivating multi-sensory experience. A warm, festive fragrance of cinnamon, ginger, and holiday spices fills the air, creating an immersive atmosphere that truly smells like Christmas.
The Journey Behind the Tree’s Construction: More Than a Month of Work
Wingham said, “The tree took more than one month to prepare. It was created in panels and assembled onsite because it needed to be sturdy and strong.”

The Weight of Christmas: A Monumental Tree of Festive Proportions
The entire weight of the tree is around 2,000 kilos, which is the equivalent weight of a family of polar bears. Using more than 200 bars of chocolate and 1,000 kg of flour, the tree stands as a testament to both artistry and holiday spirit.
