Cynthia Merhezi’s fall 2025 collection marks a significant turning point for the designer, influenced by a ceasefire and political shifts in Lebanon. “For the first time, I feel like I can plan ahead,” Merhezi expressed during a recent showroom visit. “There’s finally been a political change, and it gives me a beautiful perspective. The mood in Beirut is now different. People are out again, and there’s a sense of positive in the air. It’s light and playful.”

A Journey of Self-Discovery

The recent stability allowed Merhezi to shift away from a survival mentality and focus more on her personal life and artistic vision. Her fall collection serves as a reflection of her journey, merging her identity with her designs. The collection navigates through the dichotomy of personal freedom and public persona, echoing influences reminiscent of style icons like Jackie Kennedy and Audrey Hepburn.

“It’s about embracing duality, not compartmentalization. That philosophy, finding extreme balance, harmony between them – has always been at the heart of my brand,” she shared.

Design Innovations: Fashion Meets Functionality

This season’s collection explores themes of balance through both innovative design and contrasting themes. Asymmetrical jackets and coats are contrasted with a versatile pussycat blouse, featuring hidden strings that allow for transformation depending on the occasion. Additionally, gathered black leather pencil skirts can be flipped for alternate styling, while shiny polka dot blouses can easily transition into party dresses.

Material Exploration and Aesthetic Fusion

Merhezi’s exploration of duality extends to the choice of materials. Her original 2018 collection introduced party dresses with layered fabrics, pairing white cotton with black tulle adorned with “Adhesive Party Sequins.” This spirit of mixing fabrics continues, as delicate bows are juxtaposed with frayed edges on tweed jackets, and the simplicity of lining fabrics is beautifully treated to align with luxurious materials such as Piacenza wool.

The collection also features ethereal silver techno fabric, designed to evoke freedom and fluidity, while simultaneously referencing the energy of crowded nightlife.

“It’s all about stepping into the charge of who you are,” Merhezi remarked. Her fall 2025 collection, titled Renaissance Renaissance, offers a more refined and serene approach to fashion, reflecting both personal and social transformations.
