Pastor Bob Thibodeau never set out to become a broadcaster. He didn’t dream of microphones, podcast networks, or speaking in nearly 100 cities. He wasn’t looking to build a media ministry that would span decades and train hundreds of digital evangelists. But sometimes, obedience to a small nudge from God becomes the seed for a global ripple.
For Pastor Bob, that nudge came in the quiet hours of ministry—when he saw how many people were craving spiritual truth but weren’t walking into churches to find it.
“The world was changing. People weren’t just showing up on Sundays anymore,” he recalls. “They were listening. Watching. Scrolling. I knew we had to meet them where they were.”
So he did. With nothing but a passion for the gospel and a belief that God’s Word had to reach beyond the pulpit, he launched what would become Freedom Through Faith Ministries (FTFM)—a platform that would soon connect with tens of thousands across countries, generations, and platforms.
From Ministry to Media: The Unexpected Shift
When Pastor Bob began preaching, it was the 1990s. Ministry was done behind pulpits, in sanctuaries, and on physical stages. But as technology evolved, he noticed something powerful: the microphone was moving.
People were tuning into online sermons, downloading podcasts, and watching Facebook Lives long before they stepped foot in a church building. This digital migration of faith didn’t scare Pastor Bob—it inspired him.
He launched his first online radio program years before podcasting became mainstream. From there, he developed what would become a vast library of interviews, sermons, and teachings. His message was consistent: hope, clarity, and the unchanging Word of God—broadcast to a world desperately in need of it.
And while many pastors tried to “go digital” out of necessity, Pastor Bob went digital out of vision.
Giving Others Their Voice
The impact wasn’t just in the messages he delivered—it was in the voices he helped amplify.
Seeing how many Christians had a story to share but didn’t know how to start, Pastor Bob created two companion ministries: FaithCaster Academy and Podcasters for Christ. Through these programs, he’s trained hundreds of pastors, authors, and everyday believers to launch their own gospel-centered podcasts.
The process is more than technical. It’s transformational. Students learn how to craft their message, master the tools, and speak with conviction. But more importantly, they’re equipped to share their testimony in a world where people are desperate for truth.
“God told me this wasn’t just about me,” Pastor Bob says. “It was about the people I could help find their voice.”
That’s the heartbeat of everything he builds: it’s not about becoming the loudest voice in the room. It’s about turning up the volume on Christ.
When Obedience Becomes Opportunity
Ask Pastor Bob what keeps him going after 1,200 interviews, 30 years of ministry, and countless broadcast hours, and his answer is simple: obedience.
“I’m just doing what God called me to do,” he says. “Every message, every podcast, every conversation—it’s all to help someone get one step closer to Him.”
But that obedience has unlocked unexpected opportunities. He’s been invited to speak at events across the country, mentored aspiring broadcasters, and hosted thought leaders, theologians, and authors from around the world. Through it all, the mission hasn’t changed: reach more people with the truth of Christ—and help others do the same.
Not Just a Platform—A Presence
Freedom Through Faith Ministries isn’t built on personality. It’s built on presence. Whether through one-on-one interviews or behind-the-scenes coaching, Pastor Bob shows up for the people God places in his path.
That’s why guests often leave his shows saying they felt at ease, seen, and spiritually refreshed. It’s not just content—it’s connection.
In an age of polished production and impersonal platforms, Pastor Bob has chosen something countercultural: authenticity. And it’s what makes his ministry not just effective, but enduring.
A Mission Still Unfolding
As technology evolves, so does Pastor Bob’s vision. He’s expanding his reach through video, streaming, and even training others in AI-integrated podcast workflows. But the mission remains the same: equip believers to speak boldly, love deeply, and share Christ freely—whether that’s behind a mic, on a stage, or in everyday conversations.
He believes the future of ministry isn’t confined to buildings. It’s portable. It’s digital. It’s personal. And it starts with saying “yes” to God—even when you don’t yet see the full picture.
For Pastor Bob, that “yes” turned into a microphone. A ministry. And a movement.
