Montse Pre Fall 2025

Back in September, Monse’s Spring 2025 show featured a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it football-shaped bag. For Pre-Fall, Laura Kim and Fernando Garcia continue the story, bringing back prints from their third collection eight years ago, deftly combining vintage-inspired illustrations of soccer players in action with floral prints. “We loved it, but we didn’t put as much effort into it that season,” Kim explained. “Personally, I love this print because it has a bit of a masculine and feminine feel to it, like our brand.” The same masculine/feminine energy can be found in crisp silk scarf slip dresses, as well as in boxes. It was also reflected in their usage, including more clever prints on top of the classic men’s striped button-downs. “You can actually order this,” Garcia said.

Elsewhere, the duo offers a softer version of their signature deconstructed tailoring, with two-for-one pieces including trench coats with built-in draped crochet blankets and It included elastic-waisted pants with “jeans” appliqués. The matching twin-set knit also hides a surprise, with the over-the-shoulder sweater not actually a sweater or cardigan, but a flat piece made to be draped over the shoulder without adding volume or buttons. It was a great item. Rounding out the collection were going-out tops with scarves (which Millennials will remember well), and the designer added a bustier underneath for added support. “This is a more sophisticated, going-out top,” Kim added.
