Breakfast always seems to be a controversial topic. For some, it’s a pre-work chore that can be skipped. But for others, like me, it’s the most important meal of the day, and the one that sets the tone for how the rest of the day (and eating habits) will evolve. Martha Stewart, the versatile and eternal muse, seems to be in the latter position.
“I usually drink green juice made from vegetables in my garden and add a packet of collagen to it,” Stewart told Airmail earlier this month. “I have one cappuccino made in a San Marco machine. Sometimes I mix a few tablespoons of wheat germ with skim milk, but today I have a delicious locally made sourdough whole grain toast with avocado. I ate half.”
I recently got a juicer for the first time, and I’m worried that I’ve turned into the green juice girl that I wasn’t supposed to be. (I say “unlikely” because in all the years I worked at Goop, I was never once persuaded to take a bite of Goop.) I haven’t tried the celery-ginger-apple spiked packets yet, but take collagen — Benefits of taking collagen include plumper skin and healthy joints. my nutritionist.
“Collagen is a protein found in the body that plays an important role in a variety of tissues, including the skin, bones, muscles, tendons, and ligaments,” Dr. Eva Shamban, a renowned board-certified dermatologist, previously said. He told VOGUE. “We need it because as we age, our bodies’ natural collagen production decreases, leading to various signs of aging and a decline in structural support for our tissues.”
Add Stewart’s green breakfast to the long list of reasons why she looks amazing. Another? Her ridiculously talented team of dermatologists broke down her skincare routine for us here.
You still haven’t decided who to invite to your dream dinner party, but you know who your perfect breakfast date would be. It’s me and Martha.
