Klaudia Zinaty’s Women Empowerment Awards and Foundation support women and girls through grants, mentorship, and growth opportunities.
The Journey of Women Empowerment: Klaudia Zinaty’s Visionary Leadership
In Canada, a movement focused on redefining opportunities for women and girls is gaining momentum. Klaudia Zinaty, the Founder and CEO of the Women Empowerment Awards (WOEA) and The Women Empowerment Foundation, has created a platform where women’s contributions are recognized and supported. Five years ago, her vision sparked the creation of both of these initiatives aimed at celebrating women’s achievements and fostering long-term empowerment. Today, the foundation exemplifies the strength, impact, and limitless potential of women across leadership, business, and community service.
A Dream Turned Reality: Building from the Ground Up
Klaudia Zinaty’s journey began with a belief that women, when given the right resources and opportunities, can create meaningful change. Motivated by her belief that “we rise by lifting others”, she founded the Women Empowerment Awards to honor, uplift and celebrate women across diverse sectors, including business, leadership, innovation, global impact and community service.

In 2024, Klaudia extended her mission by establishing The Women Empowerment Foundation, a registered charity designed to provide young girls and women with the tools and support they need to succeed. Through mentorship, education, and financial empowerment, the foundation is working to bridge gaps and create opportunities for women throughout Canada.
The foundation’s development was not without challenges. Building a nationwide platform from the ground up required raising substantial funding, building awareness, and forming strategic partnerships. Yet, Klaudia’s dedication to empowering women kept her focused, and her ability to collaborate effectively with partners who believe in her mission, has been pivotal to the foundation’s growth.
A Turning Point: Creating Measurable Impact
A key milestone in the evolution of the Women Empowerment Awards came when it transitioned from a single event into a broader, ongoing movement. While visibility remains an important aspect, the foundation has increasingly focused on providing tangible opportunities for women to grow their networks, access resources, and receive mentorship. Over the past five years, WOEA has awarded more than $100,000 in grants to women-owned businesses and offered $20,000 in scholarships for young girls pursuing higher education.
These financial resources represent just a fraction of the foundation’s impact. The foundation also launched the Empowerment Project, which partners with women’s shelters in the Greater Toronto Area and Indigenous communities to deliver essential products and services to those in need. These efforts go beyond charitable donations to directly help women rebuild their lives and access the resources required for a better future.
What Makes the Women Empowerment Foundation Different?
The Women Empowerment Foundation’s approach stands out because of its comprehensive support for women. Many organizations focus primarily on recognition or inspirational stories, but Klaudia and her team provide practical support, including access to strategic connections, supply chains and media visibility, which can open doors for career advancement.
In addition, the foundation offers mentorship programs, leadership training, and financial literacy courses designed to equip women with the knowledge and skills necessary to build successful careers and businesses. By offering programs that support women at every stage of their journey, from emerging leaders to seasoned professionals, the foundation fosters long-term growth and success.
Building a Legacy: A Vision for the Future
As the Women Empowerment Awards and Foundation approach their fifth milestone anniversary, Klaudia reflects on the journey so far and the work still to be done. The foundation has impacted women and young girls across Canada, particularly those from marginalized communities, including survivors of sex trafficking. Through targeted scholarships and mentorship programs, the foundation continues to invest in the next generation of female leaders.
One of the most impactful aspects of the Women Empowerment Awards is its annual event, which brings together women from diverse backgrounds to celebrate their accomplishments. Many young girls from underprivileged backgrounds are invited to experience this celebration, with full glam makeovers and surrounded by 450 powerful women, offering them an unforgettable evening of female empowerment that reinforces the importance of fulfilling their dreams.

The Future of Empowerment: Continued Growth and Collaboration
Looking forward, the Women Empowerment Foundation is focused on expanding its reach and impact. With new initiatives on the horizon, the foundation aims to create even more opportunities for women and young girls across Canada to connect, learn, and thrive.
Through her ongoing commitment to women’s empowerment, Klaudia Zinaty has not only established a foundation but also a lasting legacy, one that continues to positively influence women’s lives and inspire future generations of female leaders – because when one woman rises, we all rise.
