Fashion Highlights from the Show

Kate Hudson took a departure from her usual bohemian style, embracing a retro 1970s look reminiscent of a disco ball. Appearing on Late Night With Seth Meyers, Hudson glimmered in a semi-sheer, sequined minidress. The dress featured a striking keyhole cutout descending to her waist, paired with a Peter Pan collar, long sleeves, and a beaded fringe hem.

The ensemble was completed with strappy silver heels and coordinated jewelry by Hearts on Fire. Hudson’s hair was styled in a relaxed, messy bun.

A New Role in Running Point

Promoting her latest project on Netflix, Hudson stars as Isla Gordon in Running Point, a comedy series about an unexpected turn of events landing her character in charge of a professional basketball team. Created by Mindy Kaling, the show draws inspiration from Jeanie Buss’s experience with the Los Angeles Lakers.

Hudson shared on the show:

“Jeanie was so cool. She was like, ‘Have fun.’ She gave us no boundaries. We could do anything we wanted, basically, which doesn’t happen very often.”

The series features actors Brenda Song, Drew Tarver, and Max Greenfield. It premiered in Los Angeles on February 13, before its Netflix release on February 27.

On the show’s premiere night, Hudson and creator Mindy Kaling turned heads in coordinating metallic gowns. Hudson favored a captivating gold dress by Roberto Cavalli, while Kaling selected a stunning Rahul Mishra Couture gold gown.
