Create A Stunning Smoky Eye Look With Just Three Products

The smoky eye trend, often associated with millennials, remains popular due to its versatility and ability to complement various eye shapes. However, many find it intimidating to execute, as it can lead to a messy application of black eyeshadow. It’s understandable to hesitate when trying this look, especially with the limited time we often have in our schedules.

After watching a tutorial from my favorite makeup influencer @PaintedByspencer on how to achieve a quick and easy smoky eye, I decided to give it a go myself. The outcome was stunning! If you’re eager to try the smoky eye look, follow the step-by-step guide and accompanying video below; it’s simpler than it seems and takes less than 10 minutes! You will need a Cole Pencil Eyeliner, a dark brown transition powder, some mascara, and a quality eyeshadow brush (the new Morphy brush line is my favorite).

Step 1: Prepare the waterline, tight line, and top lid

For the tight line, I utilized Neutrogena Smokey Kohl eyeliner. It sets quickly, so blending should be done swiftly. Using a small eyeshadow brush, apply the liner under the waterline and along the top lid to achieve a smooth base.

Step 2: Blend the liner with a fluffy brush and transition shade

I used the Huda Beauty Pretty Grunge palette, specifically the dark brown shade “Hope” which @PaintedByspencer recommends. However, any dark brown powder will suffice. Take a fluffy brush, dip it in the powder, and gradually mix it into the liner, blending towards the crease until you achieve your desired effect. Repeat these steps on the lower lash line as well.

Step 3: Diffuse the edges with a large fluffy brush

Continue blending the edges until you obtain your ideal look. I went back to add more eyeliner for added intensity across my eyelid. Finally, finish with multiple coats of mascara to enhance the lashes and complete the smoky eye.
