I know Pantone is very good at explaining how this year’s colors are chosen, but I have a sneaking suspicion that the real inspiration is simply Bella Hadid. That also applies to other people’s styles. How about this too?
Luckily, this supermodel is nothing if not humble. Recently, she gave back by wearing a mocha mousse nail polish. That’s why we asked a color expert to share her spotlight and give us even more inspiration to incorporate the hue into our 2025 experiences.

Hadid’s mocha mousse manicure was shared on her Instagram Story on January 7th. In the snap promoting the ‘Oubera Set,’ she clutched her favorite fragrance in her medium-length, almond-shaped, and most importantly, soft brown nails. Amazingly, this shade is a perfect match for Pantone’s shade 17-1230, Mocha Mousse, chosen to represent a “worldly atmosphere of connection, comfort and harmony.” That’s exactly “Ôrəbella”!
According to nail artist and CEO of Nail Hollywood, Maz Hanna, Mocha Mousse is a “light, luxurious brown with a warm undertone that’s approachable and versatile.”

“It fits perfectly with the rise of cozier natural tones, offering the richness and soft edges of brown, making it a great neutral that works all year round,” she previously told Birdie.

To further embody Hadid’s take on the trend, keep it soft by pairing nail art with a black sweater, like she wore in a recent post. Or wear a full mocha mousse costume.
Last May, she arrived at Cannes wearing latte nails with an all-black, monochromatic brown look. In December, she took a decaf approach with hot chocolate shades.
