With her extensive knowledge of floral symbolism, she seeks to reshape modern fashion narratives. Her breakout success came as a semi-finalist in the prestigious 2018 LVMH Awards.

A Personal Collection

As she embarks on a new decade, Butrim unveils a deeply personal collection titled after her full name, “Magdalena.” The collection prominently features strong floral prints, epitomized by a stunning long dress adorned with red roses against a royal blue background, complemented by a flowing panel and carefully placed fabric accents at the neckline and waist.

Artisan Craftsmanship

Butrim remains committed to supporting local artisans and showcases their craftsmanship throughout her designs. Drawn to tactile elements, she incorporates sculptures created by independent artisans from her hometown. Inspired by the works of late artist Magdalena Abakanowicz and contemporary artist Paulina Orowka, her collection pays homage to Slavic heritage through intricate crafts including crochet and embroidery.

The debut presented various innovative pieces, such as a mini dress featuring a fitted black bodice and a tutu made of white crochet. The collection also includes skirt structures resembling flower buds, enriched with wool-like textures that nod to traditional lace and tapestry techniques.

Amid the folk inspirations, Butrim adeptly integrates contemporary trends. Key pieces include the Paniel skirt, a versatile wrapping scarf and shawl, alongside a charming retro bathrobe coat accented with faux fur. This balance reflects a duality of timeless elegance and modern appeal, reminiscent of Audrey Hepburn’s iconic styles, featuring a carved bodice column dress and a shirred coat layered over a soft grey tracksuit, perfect for an influencer’s travel wardrobe.

Looking Ahead

As her creativity flourishes, Butrim prepares to expand her reach with a pop-up shop in Manhattan. Additionally, she is set to collaborate with the global retail giant H&M next month, promising to blend high fashion with accessible styles.
