It’s truly the Gracie Abrams holiday season. First, I had a plan to try out her “That’s So True” TikTok trend while I was bored at a family gathering. And now you too will be copying her nail art.
On December 19th, celebrity nail artist Bettina R. Goldstein posted details of her wild, festive work for Abrams on Instagram. Instead of opting for red or green polish, she thought a little smarter and opted for an on-trend nude jelly manicure embellished with the sweetest 3D ribbons.
“If I have a ribbon on my nails, does that count as a gift? I’m asking for a friend,” the artist captioned the video, also subtly mentioning that she hand-sewed a small accessory (just in case you’re wearing a pearl) (also added).
To make it even more tailored, she mixed in soft blush colors from her favorite Chanel products. Le Vernis Longwear Nail Color Fauceur 1 part, Le Vernis Longwear Nail Color Ballerina 1 part, Le Gel Coat Longwear Top 2 parts. coat. As a final step, she applied another layer of Le Gel Coat to her medium-length, soft oval nails for extra shine.
While this look was actually created for the 2024 Met Gala in May (further proof of the coquette trend’s staying power), it’s perfect for a winter get-together. Nothing is perfect. Even better, Abrams’ makeup from that night also serves as inspiration for the rest of her style.
Makeup artist Tyrone Mahahausen was in May mode when he chose lilac eyeshadow for the event, but his vision remains the same. While it’s not a shade that automatically comes to mind when you think of the holidays, this style is simply something you’ll want to wear with winter whites…and if you’re already at the sewing machine, add it to your hair. Maybe add a matching ribbon?
To answer Goldstein’s question, yes, good nail art counts as a gift. Thank you, Gracie, for sharing your gift.
