When young women enter polite society, there are two ways to really get noticed. The first is to make his social debut at Le Bal des Débutantes in Paris. 2: Wear matching nail polish with your mother. (FYI, this only works if your mother is Gwyneth Paltrow. If not, it may be best to forge your own path.)
On Saturday, November 30th, Apple Martin was in the spotlight at a prestigious event in Paris. The event exists to introduce girls from famous families to the world while raising funds for charity. Naturally, her mother was by her side, and while Martin’s blue chiffon dress stole the show sartorially, the two Manish wore a “I’m Here, World” Deserves It was.
An Instagram carousel posted by Paltrow to highlight the event shows the two hugging each other, with each other’s nail art, or lack thereof, visible. Apparently, mother and daughter both opted for simple naked French manicures, keeping their nails medium short and filed into a soft almond shape.
To get the look yourself, choose nude/pink/cream shades that won’t overpower your natural nail color. In a pinch (did you forget about the ball tonight?!), Glamnetic’s ballet pink press-ons will come in handy.
As for the rest of her look, Martin once again followed in her mother’s footsteps and kept it simple with beachy blonde waves, a pretty pink lip, and a swipe of mascara. In the end, she wore her hair in a messy updo, echoing Paltrow’s look that night, before performing the event’s customary father-daughter waltz with Coldplay’s Chris Martin.
The 20-year-old’s perfectly tousled curtain bangs framed her face, with some significant strands falling down her back. This do came with a jeweled clip fixed to the top of her head, which was the only accessory she wore/needed. Because when you’re wearing a custom Valentino that took 750 hours to make and you’re a Goop heiress, simple is more than enough.
You know what they say….the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.
