Chandra Kotaru is the founder, scientist, and intellectual architect of Mobius.

Ashwini did not come to this work through the platform. She came to it through the person. Thirteen years ago, she fell in love with the person he is and saw him for the mad scientist he is who wants to change the world and she made a choice that has quietly shaped everything since. The work is an expression of that. The global operations, the partnerships, the world stage, all of it is her way of making sure that what he is building and creating reaches the people and institutions that need it most.

She leads Mobius’s global operations across four countries. She executes the investor narrative, the commercial strategy, and the partnerships with enterprises and institutions that are beginning to understand what ASI-grade intelligence actually means for how they function. She is the face of Mobius on the world stage because Chandra trusts her to represent not just the platform, but the principles behind it.
Their shared belief is precise: that AI, designed responsibly, should dissolve asymmetries of capability rather than concentrate them. That the intelligence of tomorrow should extend to the many, not only the well-resourced.
That conviction is not abstract for either of them. It is what drew Ashwini to the United Nations Information for All Program, where she works to ensure that AI-powered information systems reach underserved communities. It is what grounds her published research on the Coordination Rent Cycle, a framework, available on SSRN, examining how AI restructures enterprise coordination at its core and reshapes institutional governance in ways most organizations are not yet prepared for.
The research drew attention from policymakers and institutions. But for Ashwini, it was never about the attention. It was about understanding the thing deeply enough to serve it well.
Built From the Ground Up
Ashwini grew up in Hyderabad, in a household where nothing was handed over and everything had to be earned through effort and clarity of mind.
She began her career at Amazon before joining Gaian Solutions, the venture group within which Mobius was born, where she spent nearly a decade moving through operations, marketing, and product learning every step of the way.
That formation across every layer of the organization is what now allows her to manage a global footprint across time zones and cultures without losing the thread of what the company is actually trying to become.
Alongside Mobius, she is personally scaling Gaian Solutions’ Global Capability Center as a Service business, building an offering that gives global enterprises not just headcount in India, but a full operating model: culture, leadership alignment, and institutional coherence from the start. It is, like everything she touches, built to last rather than to impress.
Soil, Spaces, and the Same Question
The work does not stop at the screen.
In the San Diego foothills of Valley Center, Ashwini and Chandra founded Chandini Farms, a USDA Certified Organic regenerative farm built from the ground up. She is a California Licensed General Contractor and founder of Ourean Creations, a sustainable design and construction firm. Before any of it, she was an artist.
These are not hobbies. They are the same inquiry expressed in different materials.
What is this really trying to do, and is the current form actually serving that? It is the question she brings to an enterprise system, to a piece of land, to a building, to a creative act. The domain changes. The discipline does not.
For the Children, and the Future They Deserve
Ashwini serves as an appointed council member on the San Diego County Office of Education’s Local Child Care and Development Planning Council, contributing to early childhood policy and the coordination of learning services across the county.
She has written about the cognitive crisis facing young children with the seriousness it deserves. The zero to five developmental window, she argues, is not a soft concern. It is a civilizational one. And the question of how AI intersects with it, whether as accelerant or as equalizer, is one she holds with genuine urgency.
On Motherhood, Honestly
At home, Ashwini and Chandra are raising their daughter Antara, now three.
She will not tell you it has been easy. It has not. There are days that are genuinely hard days when the demands of global operations, of a vision still being built, of a child who needs you fully present, all arrive at once and leave very little room. The weight of it and the exhaustion is real.
But what Ashwini wants Antara to grow up knowing is not that her mother had it together. It is that her mother did not give up.
Antara will see the frustrating days and the uncertain ones. She will see her parents push through things that did not come easily. And she will also see, underneath all of it, a family that came together with intention. A home built not on convenience but on purpose. On a shared belief that the work matters, that the world can be made better, and that the best thing any of us can offer the next generation is the example of standing up for something real, however hard that gets.
The greatest contribution any of us can make to civilization, Ashwini believes, is not a platform or a policy or a paper. It is a child who grows up knowing what it looks like to not give up. To believe in something. To carry it forward.
That is what she and Chandra are trying to give Antara. One day at a time.
What She Is Building Toward
As Mobius moves toward a significant public milestone in the summer of 2026, the inaugural convening of the RASA Foundation, Ashwini carries it with the steadiness of someone who has never once confused urgency with noise. In July 2026, she will take that work to Geneva as an approved participant in the United Nations Global Dialogue on Artificial Intelligence Governance, a General Assembly mandated meeting bringing together member states and thought leaders to shape the future of AI policy worldwide.
She is not building toward a version of herself that will finally be recognized. She is building toward a world that reflects what she and Chandra believe, that intelligence should serve, not capture. That access should be the default, not the exception. That the systems we inherit can always, with enough rigor and enough love, be made better.
Some people spend their lives looking for a purpose large enough to hold them.
